Although Cooley’s has nothing to do with the great American sport of baseball, it just happens to be located in the heart of the Nation’s baseball capital of the world!
Housed in a vintage stone building with trim painted a deep Irish green, its typical Irish pub atmosphere makes you feel welcome the moment you arrive. Lots of wood, plenty of beer on tap, friendly service, and just enough regulars to let you know that there’s more to Cooperstown than baseball.
Many locals use it as a haven to escape the crowd of tourists that invade visit The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during “the season” as it is one of the very few businesses that is not baseball oriented. But it’s the food that keeps bringing them back. Noted for their burgers (the Jersey burger has a thick slice of Pork Roll, although that they insist on calling Taylor Ham) and their selection of sandwiches (I’ll have a Ruebenburger, please!), but you can make a meal out of their selection of mouth-watering appetizers. Please order the Rueben Balls when you visit, you won’t be disappointed.
There’s lots to do in Cooperstown, but same time for a pint at Cooley’s!
