Johnny Foley’s Irish House

Located in Union Square in San Francisco and two blocks from the St Francis Hotel is Johnny Foley’s Irish bar. Johnny Foley’s started in 1998 in an old 1910 building. There’s plenty of space to move around since the ceilings are at least twenty feet high. There are some “snugs” strategically designed around the room so a person can have private chats.

The owners are Martin and Mary Connolly from Cork. They started Johnny Foley’s in the theater area and it is a great place for dinner or a drink after seeing one of the many theaters in the area.

Johnny Foley’s was never an owner but rather an enigma. Johnny was born in Waterford, Ireland and came to North America with an instinctive voice and natural way of making people comfortable.
